First Run of the Season

Grandma Gwen put Kendrick on her season ski pass with her so that she could take him skiing on fridays. Kendrick has never been before so we weren't sure how it would go. To our surprise, he actually did really well. My sister-in-law Natalie and her son Tug also went up with Tug's Grandma Chris. The four of them had so much fun!!! Natalie, Stone, and I stayed in the lodge to take pictures and keep warm. It ended up being an all-dayer! I thank Gwen a million times for having the patience and giving my son the opportunity to do something that I have always wanted him to learn. I hope he loves it! It really was a full circle moment for me...my dad was an amazing skiier and he and his brothers patrolled at Beaver Mtn. for years. We were at the Beav every winter weekend growing up. So it was a moment I teared up and took it all in. Kendrick really made Grandpa Del proud!

Christmas in Cali!

This year for the holidays we decided to go on a Southern California vacation with my two sisters and their families and our family friend and her family. I think there were 17 of us in all. We woke up early Christmas morning and opened presents then quickly headed off to the airport. We flew out just in time before the terrible storm came in and closed the airport. We spent 3 1/2 days in Anaheim at Disneyland and then the other 3 1/2 days in San Diego at Seaworld and the beach. The weather was never hot but the sun shined the whole time and the best part was there was no snow! We had not been on vacation for a long time so it was really cool to get out for a change of scenery. I did suprisingly well while we were there. I was really tired but able to keep my nausea in check for the most part. I think we were so busy I didn't really have time to dwell on it. I don't want to curse myself and say that I am doing better, but I hope that we are on the downward side of this sickness! We hope you all had wonderful holidays!

USS Midway

We had the opportunity to visit a retired navy ship docked in San Diego called the USS Midway. They take you on tours and tell you all about how the military would operate the ship as well as the air force running planes from off the ship's deck. It was a really cool experience for us history buffs!

DISNEYLAND!

What a rat race! I probably would not recommend going to Disneyland at Christmas time due to the fact that there were at least 5 million people there at the same time we were. We really did have a blast. Kendrick was scared several times on certain rides that he didn't want to go on but then in the end he had so much fun! I was even able to ride a few of the mellow rides. It was such good family and friend time!

Goofy's Kitchen

We spent an evening at Goofy's Kitchen with the whole gang! It was so fun for the kids to have their pictures taken with all these characters that come to life.

The Sandy Beaches

Mike had never seen the ocean so it was so fun for him to dig his feet into the sand. It is something you can't explain to someone, they just have to do it. All the kids wanted to do was dig for seashells and boy did we get tons! At La Jolle Cove, there are seals that you can come within a few feet of that live on that beach year round. It was so fun to watch them go out to swim then come back in and sun on the beach.

Coming Home

This is when it all came to an end! Literally, our landing was so rocky I'm pretty sure I have never been so sick in my life!
